About Our School
1. BEGINNING
Reliance Residential School came into existence in the year 2041 at Old Baneshwor in Kathmandu. The idea was mooted because a large number of students went to India and elsewhere seeking a better standard of education. To help those children avoid long-distance traveling and also to bring better education standards to their doorstep, the Reliance Residential School came into being Needless to say, the Institution has grown from strength to strength and we haven't looked back ever since. The first batch of students passed the School Leaving Certificate Exam in the year 2054. Our ultimate goal is to make the children and parents feel proud that they were in some way or the other associated with its growth and progress.
2. THE SCHOOL
This is an educational institution where both girls and boys are taken for admission. Admission starts from Playgroup/Nursery level. We have trained staff both in the academic field and administrative areas with the whole intention of making the children attain rapid progress and development in all spheres of life. Accordingly, we have large spacious playing fields, neat and clean classrooms and dormitories. We also have a well-stocked library, laboratories and a computer hall. The idea is to make our children who pass out from this school, very confident young persons to overcome any challenges of this modern life.
3. EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Character building is an important aspect of our education system. A bookworm child does not go very far in life. A child who can stand in any and every situation of life is the one who usually triumphs. This cannot be achieved by mere pipe dreams but a concentrated programme and its coordinated implementation is required to achieve the desired goal. Accordingly, cultural programmes, excursions, outings, camp life, Inter-House competitions on various games, and athletics including elocution, recitation and debates are organized. Children are exposed to high competitive standards to bring out the best in them and thereby acquire a newfound confidence. Regular classes on musical instruments like guitar, drum, violin, and synthesizers are also conducted. Dance classes are organized by a trained dance teacher. Every student must be a member of a particular ECA Club.
4. ACADEMIC CURRICULUM
The school follows the SLC Curriculum laid down by the Government of Nepal. English is the medium of instruction and is accordingly given much prominence. We conduct regular monthly tests and parents are constantly informed about the progress of their wards. Books and Stationery are provided by the school. The academic session starts in mid-April and terminates in the third week of March.
5. ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Admission is done by registration on a first come first serve basis. However, the Principal will take an informal test to see the suitability of the child for the particular class asked for. The Principal's decision is final and binding. The age limit for Nursery is approximately three or three plus, and so on for other classes. Playgroup 21/2 or three
6. HOSTEL ARRANGEMENTS
We have two boarding houses under the care of house master and matron. Girls and boys are housed in separate buildings. An infirmary consisting of four beds is manned by a trained and qualified Nurse. Day- boarding facility is also available to ease the load of working parents.
7. TRANSPORTATION
The school has its own transport system. Regarding the charges and routes and various timings, inquiries could be made at the school office.
